Every now and then, we get a car in here at Rascasse that makes me raise my eyebrows. This car made them ascend off my face! I guess if your here looking at this advert then you'll know exactly what fantastic value you're getting with a DS5 but, for me, it was a real surprise. Taken in part-exchange, it is absolutely stunning and I can only imagine the feeling the original owner had when this was delivered new. Being the DSport it is top of range with a full black leather interior, but it has many optional extras even after that - It has a heads-up display for speed and navigation, a full glass panoramic roof but with individual sunroofs for the driver and passenger, with a full size sunroof for the rear passengers. It is an amazingly comfortable place to spend a journey, whether in the front (with heated massaging seat for the driver, heated for the passenger) or rear, and considering the price, this is possibly the best value car we have had in for a while when you consider everything you're getting for the money - remember, this was a £30,000+ car just over ten years ago!
Now the bad bits - The car starts, runs, drives, and stops fine - no issues. The wheels are scabby, the laquer has peeled away and they are corroded. The is some rust bubbling on the OSR wheelarch (very common for this car) and the lacquer has started to peel in a number of places. A/C is cool rather than cold and could do with a regas. There is only one key. There is also a large chip in the windscreen which apprears to have been repaired previously as best as it could. This will be touch and go for the MOT. It's under 40mm and in the black, opaque part of the screen. It's because of this that we are unable to offer this car for retail sale. The car is therefore being sold as SPARES OR REPAIR simply for this reason, emphasis on repair. Given the condition of the car, we can't make this into anything other than what it is and it's therefore unviable for us to put a new screen in it. As I said, the car runs fine and has even had a cambelt change in 2024. If you can put up with the cosmetics, and find an MOT tester that isn't a jobsworth, this will make a lovely cruiser for all the reasons stated previously.
